The goal of precision agriculture research is to define a decision support system (DSS) for whole farm management with the goal of optimizing returns on inputs while preserving resources.
There is ongoing requirement to improve the yield and overall quality of the tea gardens by making sure the Environment parameters like weather patterns, rainfall patterns, temperature and humidity, soil quality in the form of moisture content, soil pH and soil NPK fertilizer content etc. are monitored and measured periodically for the garden.
These inputs are necessary to identifies, analyses, and manages variability in fields by conducting crop production practices at the right place and time and in the right way, for optimum profitability, sustainability, and protection of the land resource for sustainable farming practices.
Currently these parameters are either measured manually using soil testing in labs or usage of traditional methods like rain gauge to measure rainfall quantity, weather forecast data from mobile devices and in most cases tea garden owners still maintain manual log-book registry to measure the temperature-humidity, rainfall etc. daily and compare the data over the last 10 years to predict the future pattern and make critical decision on harvesting, pruning, fertilizer application, irrigation etc. which is a labor intensive and tedious exercise.

Based on all the data collected from the particular field either in the form of satellite imagery, weather and rainfall data along with the actual data collected from sensors in the field , Nibiaa Devices will be able to run AI based predictive analytics Model and help farmers in answering critical questions about the farm overall management and provide a decision support system solution. - Our initial target market is the Tea industry in Assam, North Bengal and Darjeeling area which accounts for 90% of the country’s tea production and 566K Hectares of land under Tea plantation. There are about 1500 BTE (Big Tea Estate) with an average land holding of 300 Hectares and 57,000 registered STG (Small tea growers) with less than 10 hectares of plantation ownership in the region. Then we want to move on to other plantation and Horticulture crop productions like coffee, rubber, nuts etc. which accounts for 4 million Hectares under cultivation in the country.

Nibiaa Devices has come up with an IoT / AI platform which aggregates all the relevant information for a particular tea garden management by plotting polygons diagram of a particular farm and providing all relevant information like weather forecast, rainfall forecast, temperature and humidity, satellite imagery like NDVI(Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) and EVI(Enhanced Vegetation Index) for a particular farm . On top of these data , Nibiaa devices has also build a LoRaWAN IoT node capable of capturing upto 4 different sensor data from the ground which will provide real-time Soil pH, Soil NPK content in mg/kg, Soil moisture etc. directly from the tea garden fields. The platform also has the capability to bring in last 10 years historical environment data for the particular farm on need basis. These information can be accessed by the tea garden managers and owners to get real-time insight on various conditions of the garden remotely from anywhere around the world.
