A lack of efficient solar agri processing machinery for rice, wheat, maize and millets through its Solar-powered Effic

Although India is a rapidly developing country, it still relies heavily on its primary sector with almost a quarter of its GDP being contributed by the agricultural sector. A great majority of the population still depends on the agricultural sector for their livelihood with more than 80% of farmers in India being small scale^[1]. These poor farmers are unable to make ends meet as they do not possess adequate technology to process crops. Relying on outdated methods to process crops such as diesel generators that produce a meagre net output efficiency of 20% or exploitation by milling middlemen are the main reasons for more than 3000 farmer suicides in India every year^[2].

In accordance with SDG 7 and 8 of the United Nations, this project deals with improving the socio-economic conditions in rural India by means of solar powered agricultural machines. By improving the farming techniques utilized by small scale farmers along with the decentralizing of crop processing, farmers will not only be able to improve their crop yield but also significantly increase their income. In order to achieve these goals, this project plans on developing solar powered efficient machines for rice processing such as:
